The QP-SJAF CSR partnership
The QP-SJAF CSR partnership kicked off in 2019 when the Corporate Sustainability Department of HSBC Malta p.l.c. put us in touch with the then CEO of QP – David Xuereb – to explore the possibility of pro bono professional services for our NGO’s infrastructural project – the renovation of an old town house in Tarxien that would eventually function as the national SOAR Service Hub run by survivors of domestic violence in support of victims and survivors of violence against women. Since then, a dedicated professional team at QP provided the following services:
· Preparing the actual floor plans since none existed.
· Holding meetings with our team and carrying out site visits leading to the preparation of the proposed floor plans incorporating all the required renovation works.
· Preparing a detailed Planning Authority application PA and following up all PA queries during the pre-permit assessment process.
· Site visit to determine the state of the wooden beams and liaising with a company that would undertake beam testing and inspection and final report with recommendations.
· Designing internal finishing layout, including site visit by an engineer and a designer to discuss how the electrical and plumbing system could be accessed.
· Site visit to neighbouring households to check the building periphery prior to the eventual commencement of works.
· Managing the Irrestawra Darek application to prepare a Method Statement for the restoration of the façade.
· Advised regarding the specifications for the solar panels, and heat pumps versus water heaters.
· 3D rendering of the building for use during a fundraising campaign.
The QP team has always been available for discussions and planning execution. We are very grateful to the QP team for its sustained professional support.
